This is a review of the Sookie Stackhouse short story “Gift Wrap” by Charlaine Harris. It can be found in the anthology “A Touch of Dead” by Charlaine Harris.
“Gift Wrap” takes place after “From Dead to Worse“.
Sookie is alone on Christmas Eve. She is feeling rather lonely and melancholy. She decides to go for a stroll in the woods.
In her woods she finds a naked and battered man. He looks so cold and scraped up that Sookie insists he comes back with her to her house. He refuses at first, but then gives in.
But just who is this mystery man? And should Sookie let him into her home?
A short story that shows another side to Sookie. Charlaine Harris has said: “it’s the only thing I have ever written about Sookie that contains another point of view” (in “The Sookie Stackhouse Companion”) which is also quite interesting.
